Membership of the Chartered Institute of Power Engineers of Nigeria (CIPEN) – MCIPE
Requirements
Option A
a) A minimum first degree in one of the following disciplines:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Power Systems Engineering
• Transmission and Distribution Engineering
• Civil Engineering (Specialisation in Dams and Hydraulic Structures)
• Renewable Energy & Systems Engineering
b) At least ten (10) years of relevant and verifiable post-qualification experience in the power sector or related industry.
Option B
a) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in one of the following disciplines:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Power Systems Engineering
• Transmission and Distribution Engineering
• Civil Engineering (Specialisation in Dams and Hydraulic Structures)
• Renewable Energy & Systems Engineering
b) A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and verifiable post-qualification experience in the power sector or related industry.
Option C
a) Credit in the CIPEN Professional Power Engineers (CPE2) Certification Examination
b) A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and verifiable power sector or industry experience.
Option D
a) Candidates with National Skills Qualification (NSQ) Level 7
b) A minimum of fifteen (15) years of extensive and verifiable experience in the power sector, which may be considered for full membership of the Chartered Institute of Power Engineers of Nigeria.
