Registering as an individual Power System Engineer

Review the requirements
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Wait for your application to be reviewed — this typically takes 3–5 working days.
  • Once approved, pay the Membership Registration Fee.
Create your account
  • Open the registration portal and choose “Personnel” from the Membership Type dropdown.
  • Enter your full name, email, mobile number, and a password, then select Sign Up.
  • Check your inbox and click the verification link to confirm your email.

Go to Registration Portal

Complete your profile
  • Log back in and fill out your personal and professional details on the next page.
 
Upload your documents
  • Passport photograph
  • Valid ID card
  • Educational Credentials
  • O’level result
  • Higher Institution certificates
  • NYSC Certificate
  • COREN certificate (if available)
  • NSE certificate (if available)
  • Other relevant certificates
  • Detailed Work Experience Profile (DWEP)
Pay and get approved
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Wait for your application to be reviewed — this typically takes 3–5 working days.
  • Once approved, pay the Membership Registration Fee.
Activate your licence
  • Wait for your Membership Number to be assigned, then download your Membership Notification Letter.
  • Pay the required fee to activate your licence.
  • Download your Licence Notification Letter — you’re done.

Registering a Nigerian or foreign firm

Review the requirements
  • Once approved, pay the Licence Activation Fee.
  • Wait for your Firm Licence Number to be assigned, then download your Licence Notification Letter — you’re done.
  • Check the firm registration requirements for your business.
  • Review the corporate firm categories to choose the right one. A firm picks one main category — Contracting, Consulting, Manufacturing, Services, Maintenance, or Vendors — plus up to three subcategories.

Create your account
  • Open the registration portal and choose “Nigerian Firm” or “Foreign Firm,” based on ownership.
  • Enter the company name, company email, company mobile number, and a password, then select Sign Up.
  • Check the company inbox and click the verification link to confirm the email.

Complete the firm profile

 

  • Log back in and add details of any CIPEN-licensed Power System Engineers on the board, in management, and within the firm.
  • Select your firm category and up to three subcategories based on specialization.
Upload your documents

Upload the required documents, such as.

  • CAC Certificate
  • Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC)
  • Company Brochure (must include completion certificates)
  • CAC Forms CO2 and CO7
  • CAC Annual Return Form (Form 10)
  • Other relevant certificates
Pay and get approved
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Wait for your application to be reviewed — this typically takes 3–5 working days.
Activate your licence
  • Once approved, pay the Licence Activation Fee.
  • Wait for your Firm Licence Number to be assigned, then download your Licence Notification Letter — you’re done.
