Apply for Fellowship of the Institute
Five steps, start to finish. Check where you stand, then submit online — no paperwork required.
Check your eligibility
You need all six to qualify. If any don't apply yet, hold off on applying until they do.
- ✓Active member of the Institute
- ✓Senior Member (SMCIPE) for at least 5 years
- ✓Membership dues and fees up to date
- ✓Active SPPEng licence holder for at least 5 years
- ✓20+ years' experience in power engineering practice

Submit your application
Two things to do, both from the portal.
Pay the expression-of-interest fee
A one-off payment made through the portal. Paying it submits your application for assessment immediately — there's no separate submit step.

What happens next
Your application moves through internal review, the Board of Fellows, then Council — on a fixed yearly cycle.
